Primes and integrators are currently struggling to source key cameras for mission-critical payloads. Supplier lead times have escalated and quality is becoming an issue. Raptor has invested heavily in key components and we are able to offer delivery of camera cores within 4-6 weeks. Contact us today at sales@raptorphotonics.com
Raptor Photonics Ltd, a global manufacturer of digital cameras, welcomes two new members of staff to the team as the company continues to grow.
Gareth Cross joins the Operations team as a mechanical design engineer. Gareth comes with many years’ experience, previously holding similar mechanical design roles in aerospace and medical instrumentation industries.
Chris Robinson joins the Engineering / R&D team as a recently qualified graduate Electronics Engineer. Chris attained a first-class honours degree in Electronic Engineering from Ulster University and undertook his year placement in a camera company as a hardware and FPGA engineer.
Raptor Photonics Ltd, a global manufacturer of SWIR, CCD and CMOS cameras, is delighted to welcome John Miller, who has joined the company as a Sales Engineer. As a key part of Raptor’s growth strategy to expand and pursue new markets, John will be responsible for growing sales across EMEA regions. John is a qualified mechanical engineer has previously worked in sales roles within the engineering sector.
Raptor now offers a full suite of cameras and detectors suitable for Raman and HSI applications. We offer a choice of CCD and InGaAs sensors in various resolutions and pixel pitches, optimized for specific wavelengths and a choice of cooling. There are custom options available such as interface, mechanical mounts, windows etc as well as a range of firmware options. Visit our OEM section to find out more.
Raptor has enhanced its range of cooled CCD cameras with the launch of the Eagle 1MP. Using a back-illuminated CCD (1056 × 1027 pixels with 13μm × 13μm pixel pitch), the camera is air-cooled to -80°C to minimize dark current for longer exposures. Using low noise electronics, it offers 2.3e- readout noise. It is available in C-Mount with an integrated shutter and is the smallest camera in its class at 140mm x 126mm x 120mm.

Raptor Photonics has launched the Ninox 640 SU, a vacuum cooled InGaAs based camera with 640×512 sensor with a 15µm x 15µm pixel pitch for the highest spatial resolution. The Ninox 640SU is vacuum cooled to -80°C for ultra-long exposures of up to 5 minutes. Its ultra-low dark current and read-noise result in the best “scientific” SWIR camera on the market today. It is the perfect camera for staring applications in SWIR wavelengths (from 900nm – 1700nm) including NIR-II In-Vivo Imaging, Fluorescence Imaging and Astronomy.
Raptor Photonics was set up in September 2006 to design and manufacture high-performance cameras for a range of markets including scientific, surveillance, aerospace and industrial. The company has grown year on year and now sells cameras in over 50 countries around the world to a range of instrumentation companies, government bodies, research labs and universities.
Raptor has become the market leader in SWIR camera technology and our cameras are used in a variety of applications including low light day and night-time imaging, spectroscopy, fluorescence, high-energy X-Ray, time-resolved, in-vivo imaging. Raptor’s cameras can be found in instrumentation from the sea-bed to space, including the ISS. They can also be found on the microscopes, spectrometers, beamlines and telescopes of some of the world’s leading research establishments and OEMs. The high-performance of Raptor’s cameras are helping customers to discover new ways of seeing.
Raptor has offices in Larne, Northern Ireland and Norcross, Georgia, United States and works with a variety of channels and distributors around the world to service and support customers.
