Raptor’s tour of duty continues, visiting a number of customers across India with our distributor S M Creative Electronics Ltd (SMCEL). A great week, much was learned and achieved. Tiring but very beneficial as the Raptor brand continues to grow in this important market.
This week the Raptor team met with Mr Kim, CEO of Hanaro Corporation, in Suwon-City, South Korea. Hanaro has been Raptor’s distributor in South Korea for the last 10 years. Raptor has been to visit several customers this week as well as undertaking some training for the Hanaro staff, strengthening our relationship.
Raptor Photonics has launched the Hawk Indigo, using a next generation 2/3” CMOS sensor, enabling ultimate UV sensitivity and high QE of 36% at 250nm. With a pixel size of 2.74µm, the camera achieves a resolution of 8.1MP and offers global shutter, progressive scan technology to enables real time, lag-free images at 15Hz full-frame through a CameraLink interface. The Hawk Indigo is extremely rugged and can be used in harsh environments, working from -20°C to +55°C, with more extreme temperatures on special request. It is ideal for integration into industrial applications offering greater precision in hyperspectral imaging, transparent materials (plastic and PET), semiconductor, wafer and mask inspection, material sorting, combustion imaging and high voltage technology.
In our latest Application Note, Huiyan Li, from the National Center of Biomedical Analysis in Beijing, China is looking to understand how Chronobiology affects our well-being using our Eagle deep-cooled CCD camera.
The research may lead to novel therapy of circadian disruption-linked diseases like high blood pressure, obesity and other metabolic disorders.
The Magdalena Ridge Observatory Interferometer (MROI) will analyse the fringe patterns obtained from multiple pairs of combined beams to reconstruct an image of the target under observation such as imaging geostationary satellites to enhance space situational awareness. The system uses an Owl 640-II camera for SWIR imaging. You can download the App Note here
Raptor has recently picked up a new trophy at the 2022 Larne Business Excellence Awards. The SME Business category is aimed at businesses that are excelling within their marketplace. The award recognizes the strong growth Raptor has experienced over the last few years. Congratulations and thanks to all at Team Raptor.
Raptor Sales Support Engineer, Richard Benko (l) and General Manager, Liam Mulholland (r) receiving the award.
Researchers at Janelia Research Campus, Howard Hughes Medical Institute, are investigating the vast and complex network necessary for an organism to sense and react to the world. To do this, researchers must study neurons, which are the building blocks of the nervous system. Neurons connect to create complex networks at highly specialized junctions. Individual cells communicate at these ‘synapses’ by releasing chemical signals (or neurotransmitters) such as dopamine. Despite the central role that synapses play in the brain, it remains challenging to measure exactly where neurotransmitters are released and how far they travel from their release site. Currently, most tools available to scientists only allow bulk measurements of neurotransmitter release. Using a Raptor Ninox II Vis-SWIR camera has enabled researchers to study how dopamine is released from subcellular compartments that have previously not been well characterized.
Raptor has developed a new core hardware engine for Hyperspectral Imaging. The HIS-OEM features the Owl 320HS camera coupled to a custom spectrometer with lens options. With high measurement rates, exceptional spectral and spatial resolution, and a flexibly adjustable field of view, the HIS 320 enables real-time in-line monitoring – even on fast-moving objects. It is the perfect system for OEMs, with easy integration into their own in-house software. It is small, light and rugged, coming in at under 800g including the camera and lens.
Raptor Photonics, a leader in innovative digital camera solutions announced today that its Ninox 640 SU SWIR camera has been recognized among the best by the 2022 Laser Focus World Innovators Awards. An esteemed and experienced panel of judges from the optics and photonics community awarded Raptor Photonics as a Gold honoree recognizing the most innovative products impacting the photonics community this year.
The camera represents the latest in deep cooled SWIR imaging and the Gold-level Innovators Award recognizes a substantial improvement over previous methods employed, approaches taken, or products/systems used.
Over the last few years, Raptor camera cores have been chosen for several LEO Cubesat programs by a global range of leading space companies. Our VIS and SWIR cameras are being integrated into imaging and spectroscopy solutions used for earth observation and laser communication platforms for a range of applications including #wildfires, #greenhouse #gasleak identification, precision #agriculture, climate change monitoring, asset tracking, 5G communications coverage, providing invaluable, fast and accurate information to scientists back on earth.
Designed to MilSpec and SWaP optimised, Raptor cores make the ideal camera candidates for LEO cubesat programs, surviving the shock and vibration of launch conditions, temperature extremes and relatively low levels of radiation. This has given us invaluable “space heritage” with some of our cameras on current missions for over four years.
We understand the stringent electro-optical technical requirements for payloads and we are able to offer innovative custom options including mechanical and electronic layouts. Our InGaAs cameras offer exceptional images from 600-1700nm in a range of resolutions from VGA to HD. Our high-quality sensors and low noise electronics result in exceptional quality images. We are seeing increasing interest from a host of commercial and scientific companies who are working on LEO and ground-based projects.
